Tourism in Salem accounts for more than 100 million dollars spent annually, $25 million in October.

64% of Americans spend nearly $7 billion in their celebration of Halloween, the second largest commercial holiday in the US. About 20 percent of the 158 million consumers who plan to celebrate Halloween say they will visit haunted attractions in 2013, generating more than $300 million dollars annually. Horror movies have grossed an average $400m at the Box Office, 4% of total market since 2008.
