The Sacrifice Game / Satranic Panic

  • Cinema Salem 1 East India Square Mall Salem, MA, 01970 United States (map)

Salem Horror Fest will evoke Satan for the holidays with new films from George A. Romero Fellowship participants Jenn Wexler (The Sacrifice Game) and Alice Maio Mackay (Satranic Panic) at Cinema Salem on December 3 following an ordained ritual in support of body autonomy by ministers from The Satanic Temple.

The program will highlight the mentor/mentee relationship between Wexler and Mackay, whose 2021 film So Vam earned her the Salem Horror Fest jury award and the first-ever George A. Romero Fellowship. This initiative, made possible by the George A. Romero Foundation, pairs seasoned industry pros with exciting new talent who follow in the undead footsteps of Romero’s social awareness and DIY punk rock spirit. “Every film is a small miracle in the face of infinite challenges, which is why the Romero Fellowship is such a great opportunity for filmmakers at various career stages to share knowledge and help support each other with crucial advice and guidance unique to their goals,” said Suzanne Desrocher-Romero, founder and president of the George A. Romero Foundation

The event is sponsored by Feral House who will raise money and awareness for The Satanic Temple Health Fund, as recently celebrated by HBO’s Last Week Tonight. All donations will be matched up to $1,000. Make a contribution here.
